Assessment only route to iQTS

The Assessment Only Route to iQTS is for experienced teachers who have been teaching whole classes for a minimum of two years. It is the way for a PGCE holder to receive qualified teacher status. There is no taught element on this route so you do not need to follow online courses from University of Sunderland.

A portfolio with evidence regarding the 12 points of teachers’ standards for iQTS is to be provided. On this basis, an individualised assessment plan to suit the requirements is sent to you. This plan includes the recommended assessment period, of a maximum of 12 weeks. Assessment takes place in the school where you are employed.
